What Focus Penguin does
Focus Penguin is a Chrome extension that hides distracting feed elements on LinkedIn, YouTube, X (Twitter), and Substack — things like the home feed, recommendation rails, and sidebar clutter — so those sites are easier to use for what you actually opened them for. Every element it can hide is an individual toggle you control from the extension's popup.

What is stored, and where
The extension saves your toggle choices (for example, "hide LinkedIn's feed: on") using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data lives only inside your own browser profile — it is never sent to a server, because Focus Penguin doesn't have one. It is never synced, backed up, or visible to anyone but you.
How the site permissions are used
Focus Penguin runs a small script on linkedin.com, youtube.com, twitter.com, x.com, and substack.com. That script's only job is to find specific page elements (a feed, a sidebar, a button) and toggle their visibility with CSS, based on the choices you've made. It does not read page content for any other purpose, does not make network requests, and does not run on any site outside this list.
Third parties
There are none. Focus Penguin includes no analytics libraries, no advertising code, and no external scripts of any kind — everything it runs ships inside the extension package itself.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the update will appear on this page with a revised date above. Given the extension's design — no server, no accounts, nothing to collect — we don't expect that to happen.
